Christine Wong is Professor of Chinese Studies and Director of the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University of Melbourne. In the past, Christine has held positions as Professor and Director of Chinese Studies at the University of Oxford (and Fellow at Lady Margaret Hall), and the Henry M. Jackson Professor of International Studies at the University of Washington. She has also taught in the economics departments at the University of California, Santa Cruz; University of California, Berkeley; and Mount Holyoke College.
Christine’s research focuses on China’s public finance and public sector reform. She has worked extensively with the World Bank, the IMF, the OECD, and other international organisations. Christine is a member of the OECD Advisory Panel on Budgeting and Public Expenditures.
