Peter Crone has more than 20 years’ experience formulating and advising on economic and public policy issues. He is currently Principal Adviser at the Business Council of Australia.
Most recently Peter was appointed by the Abbott Government to lead the Secretariat of the National Commission of Audit.
Immediately prior to joining the BCA, Peter worked for Access Capital Advisers where he provided investment advice to a number of Australian superannuation funds. From 1997 to 2005 Peter worked as a senior adviser to Prime Minister John Howard. He also served as an adviser to the Premier of Victoria, Jeff Kennett.
Peter has held a number of company directorships and has previously worked at the Commonwealth Treasury.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) degree from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Economics from the Australian National University.
