Roger Jones is a Professorial Research Fellow at the Victoria Institute for Strategic Economic Studies (VISES) at Victoria University, Melbourne. Qualified in the earth sciences, specialising in hydrology and climatology, he applies a transdisciplinary approach to understanding and managing climate change risk that bridges science, economics and policy. Previously, he worked at CSIRO where he developed methods for undertaking a wide range of climate-related risk assessments. Current projects include understanding climate risk, the changing economics of disasters, developing economic frameworks for investing in urban green infrastructure and the economics of integrated urban water management. Professor Jones is Coordinating Lead Author on the recently released chapter Foundations of Decision-making in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Working Group II Fifth Assessment Report. He has authored over 50 refereed papers and book chapters and over 70 reports.
